I know I briefly mentioned it last week but I don't think I have really done justice for my love of the Olympics.
I grew up in a family where for two weeks every other year the only thing we watch is the Olympics. It doesn't matter if it's summer or winter, what sport, or what teams are competing, if the Olympics are on the TV is on.
During the Athens, Torino & Beijing games I was known to stay up until the coverage started live at 3 am, luckily Vancouver is closer to our time zone.
From the drama of the opening ceremony to the smiles on the faces of the competitors; the determination of the teams to the joy that teammates share for each other's wins; the stories of the road to the Olympics to the costumes; the enthusiasm of the audience to the tears and laughter on the podium stand. I love everything about the Olympics.
Every single year I wish I could compete in the Olympics, even though I am in no way athletically inclined. To tell you the truth, when I was younger my parents wouldn't let me watch the figure skating portion of the Olympics because I wanted to be a figure skater so badly I would cry.
So that's the story. I love the Olympics a lot, Jus doesn't really get it. He's a good sport and will watch them with me but he just doesn't really get into it.

I like the figure skating, but really I like the skiing and snowboarding (since that is what I do)... I am not super into it, but I think that I am into the olympics more that I realize, it brings a lot of childhood memories with it... many times when we would be skiing, it would be the only thing that came in at night on the little tv that we had! I love the cowbells that everyone rings for the skiiers!
My favorite parts of summer games are gymnastics and soccer, and my favorite parts of winter games are ice skating and curling. I love the Olympics too!
dominique moceanu was my favorite! i lived for team USA gymnastics that year.
i'm looking forward to watching the 2-man luge. i heard about it the other day and googled it and it looks just too awkward to miss!
Swimming is my favorite, always has been, even before Phelps :)
I've gotten so into the speed skating this winter olympics! So intense, I get such crazy anxiety. I've missed all the figure skating though! I'm so upset!
