Happy Monday darlings, how were your weekends?
Ours was good, we had a big day planned Saturday but ended up helping at my parents' restaurant for a while instead. Sunday was spent hunting for a mother of the bride & bridesmaids dresses and watching the closing ceremonies.
I'm sad the Olympics are over, I'm not quite sure what we'll watch now, maybe we'll just talk to each other again.
Also, Happy National Pig Day, I know it's silly to know such a thing but when I was in middle school I was crazy for pigs and my parents gave me a potbellied pig for my 12th birthday.
I need some help this Monday, lovelies.
Saturday Jus & I went to a bookstore and I walked around for an hour looking for a book and I had the hardest time finding one. Most of the time I look for recognizable authors and books, sometimes I go for authors I know I like and sometimes I just pick a pretty cover.
The problem is that I'm a reader, I go from one book to the next and tend to average a book every week and a half. I have a stack of 25 books next to my side of the bed, I have another stack of books in our office and I have about 4 times this many at my parents house.
In the 6 months since I've started this blog I've read 17 books and I think I've hit a wall. Right now I'm reading The Red Tent and I have The Help lined up as my next book but I need your help.
What are your favorite books? You can find some of my favorites here. I need some good recommendations, I'm hoping this generates my reading list for the next month or two.
Also, I've added a formspring box to the left so if you've got a question ask away, I'm not sure if we're interesting enough to warrant one, but I thought it would be fun to play along.
Have a happy Monday and remember to sign up for my giveaway if you haven't yet!

I just finished reading "The Wrong Mother" by Sophie Hannah and I have to say it was pretty good, it was one of those books I started reading and then pretty much had to finish to find out what happened. So it's definitely a recommend. Next up is Committed, the sequel to Eat Pray Love. I heard its not as good as the first but still a pretty good read. So looking forward to that. You can borrow The Wrong Mother if you'd like :)
I just read the sweet in between. it will pry take you a day to read because its small but its pretty good. its by sheri reynolds. Also did you read the new mitch albom book
if you liked the girl with the dragon tattoo, you should really read the girl who played with fire. so very good. i also really liked Margret Atwood's Oryx and Crake, and The Year of the Flood. I also read Chuck Pahlinik's Lullabye and Invisible Monsters (trying to read books from our personal collection so we can justify owning them! matt hadn't even read them, and they were his!)
I have the same problem as you - I just can't keep books on my nightstand for longer than a week or so. If you have any great suggestions, i would love to hear them!
i don't know if that picture is all the books you HAVE read or haven't gotten to yet but either way, Waiter Rant was the bomb diggity. I've had a blog post about this little gem saved for forever. Never finished She's Come Undone. Worth trying?
The Time Traveler's Wife is one of my absolute favorites! I also really love A Farewell to Arms by Hemmingway. A Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. I just finished reading Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson - that is really awesome if you want to learn more about afghanistan while you're reading. Also Kiterunner is really good and the sequel, A Thousand Splendid Suns is even better. Actually, I don't know if it is a sequel. They don't neccesarily need to be read in order. Gone With The Wind is a classic and a must read. I just finally read it this year and it was incredible! I am reading East of Eden right now and I thoroughly enjoy it. I read Olive Kitteridge at the beginning of this year and it was quite good. An interesting read. The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver is one of my favorites. I could just keep listing books all day long. Let me know if you've already read these. You should do book reviews on this site. That would be absolutely amazing.
Oh I am an avid reader, I absolutely love books! I can't get enough of them! I'll have to go through your list and see if I can come up with suggestions for you :-)
Thanks for stopping by my blog, and letting me know about the guitar things!
