Stuck in a Rut and All That Jazz

Firstly, Thank You for all of the sweet comments yesterday, you were all so sweet about my looks and I'm beyond flattered.

And now on to business...

Two Septembers ago I started Adventures in Love & Happiness to stash my inspiration but as I've continued to blog my inspiration lists have lessened and the posts on myself have grown.

As I posted the makeup post yesterday I couldn't help but have a sinking feeling in my stomach. I feel incredibly narcissistic, which, I guess is fitting considering I'm a millennial and all millennials are slightly narcissistic due to the fact that our parents reaffirmed our awesomeness daily.

I'd be lying if I told you I didn't want to become a famous blogger (hell, I'd be lying if I told you I didn't want to become a famous anything) but I'm nowhere nearly as funny as Morgan or Ree, I don't have as good of an eye as Grace or Melanie, I'm not nearly as trendy as Joanna, my style isn't as good as Jessica or Jen.

Plus I'm nowhere near as famous as any of these women.

I feel like lately my posts have been such a mishmash of cold weather wear, music viewing, Behemoth renovation, and blah blahing about our little life. Initially I had more posts about design (roundups) which switched to posts about love (Real People in Love) which recently have switched to posts about us.

While I am in this blog for myself I also want to make sure that I'm keeping you entertained and that you like to hear about our little life. I love hearing from you & your comments make my day a million times brighter.

So help me out, tell me what you like & what you don't like. What you'd like to see and what I need to cut out. If you want to leave your comment anonymously go for it, but please, don't bash my Edie, that's just cruel.

Oh, and for reals sign up for the giveaway, it ends tonight at Midnight!

I honestly like a mix between the two. I think that the main thing is to keep your blog well-written (and yours is). Readers can spot a not thought out, rushed post a mile away, and I think that if you look at many of the most popular blogs, they are well organized and not scattered. That is what I need to work on most myself, for sure, but I think you have a clear voice that shows through even if you're posting about things you didn't intend to when you started the blog. Definitely stay true to your voice. That resonates.

I've been reading your blog (mostly lurking haha. I've been trying to comment more lately) for a little over a year and a half, and I really love it =) I think the changing nature of it is natural - these kind of things will always evolve and grow.

I for one love hearing about your life - the little nothings as well as the big stuff. And I really think that if people didn't care about that stuff, they wouldn't be reading anyway, because the blog (no matter what you post) will always be such a huge reflection of that.

hope that makes sense =S My main point is that I think it's great, and I think that most, if not all, of your readers would think the same. Your blog is a reflection of you, so naturally people who like what they find will care about your life I think. Just my opinion =)

Oh...also...I'm loving the vlog fridays =)

Granted I've only been following for the past few months, I really love what you're doing on your blog right now. I think for a lot of people, blogging is somewhat "narcissistic", but not in a negative way. It's your blog, it's about you, and if people are reading and commenting, I think that's wonderful. The important thing is to do and write about what makes you happy - plus, think of all the bloggy and interwebs friends you've made!!

Do what you love and what feels right to you. I love that you write about your family and your life because it makes you so relatable to your readers... It feels like we're friends who grew up together and we can chat about how sometimes we have bad days and nothing seems right. Don't do it to be famous... but maybe that will come along with it some day! You are great.

Honestly... blogging is a narcissistic activity. Every person that blogs is as least a little bit narcissistic. And I'll be the first to admit that I'm more than a little into myself. Whatever.

I find that when I read blogs I just want to feel like I'm really getting to know the person. Which is why I started following your blog in the first place! I feel like I'm really getting to know you by reading your blog and that is awesome!

Keep doing what you're doing. You're awesome lady. Embrace it. And if you need anything, you have my email.

I think a mix is good.

I am loving getting to know you!

Also, I think you look great in your "make up post" in all the photos. and I hardly EVER wear make up in photos on my blog. Or anywhere else for that matter.

I love hearing about your house renovations and what's going on in your life. As a homeowner and newlywed I guess I can relate to you in those ways so I enjoy hearing about those aspects! Keep on blogging! <3
