Sister, sister

Yesterday I got a text from my little sis, Banan. She had spotted some dresses from the local boutique and wanted to take advantage of their 25% off sale.

The only problem was that she's 3 hours away. Banan sent me pictures of the dresses she liked, asked me to go to the store, try them on & let her know what I thought. I rushed downtown after work pulled tons of dresses & started trying them on like a mad woman.

Yeah, I know, I'm hot when I get off work

I called Banan, we settled on which dresses she wanted (2 & 3), which dress I wanted (4), walked to the cash register and handed my phone to the cashier so Banan could give her credit card info over the phone. As I stood there waiting the cashier grabbed my dress & rang it up too, Banan bought it for me because I had gone through the hassle of getting her dresses.

I left the shop feeling totally overwhelmed with how wonderful having a sister is.
Banan & me circa 1990

Banan & I fought like cats & dogs as children but as we've matured we've become close friends. Having a friend that I can rely on no matter what, one that knows my background, quirks & what I'm all about is rare and to have that person be my little sister is delightful.

I was left hoping that everyone would experience what having a sister is like, having someone to fight over clothes with but also having someone that knows your style & is your size and can pop into a store to buy you a dress.

Even though they can be a royal pain in the butt sometimes sisters are meant to have your back, hold your hand & tell you that all is right in the world and I'm beyond thankful that I've got the little sister I do.

So tell me, do you have a sister you love?

Sadly I only have a little brother and he certainly wouldn't buy me a cute lil' dress. But I do have an awesome sister in law and we got to skip all the cat fighting and go right to good friends.

Love it! And that first dress...I need that in my life.

I have a sister, but we just can not get along at all. I hate it, because I want to do things like this...I want to appreciate her. But we just can't make it work.

Love this post and those dresses, um where is this boutique please?! I have an older brother who is fab, but definitely can't buy me dresses. My SIL is wonderful, but she has a twin who she does things like this with so I don't have this type of relationship with her either. As for my husband's sisters, um, they hate me. So yea, no sisterly love in my little world. Sad face.

I have a sister who is 3 yrs older than me. Although we can definitely fight at times, we make a good team and I feel very lucky to have her!

My older sister and I were like that when we were younger - always fighting and such. Now we're much better. My little sister, who is eight years younger, looks just like me so at times, we'll go to the store and one of us will try on the clothes so that the other doesn't need to! Best set up ever, :0]

You guys are such sweet sisters! I have 3 older brothers! AND always wanted a sister:-) All of my best friends are like sisters to me though, so that works, and I have an amazing sister-in-law now too. xoxo

Same scenario - have a sister, fought growing up, close now. We still disagree, but it's different. It's not sister-fighting, it's having-adult-differences-fighting.

oooo #3 is gorgeous! You are such a doll! I wish I had a sister - I'm an only child. When I was younger I didn't mind, but now that I'm getting older I really wish I had a sister!

I have a little sister and we are total best friends! Living on the other side of the world to her is really difficult but we make sure we skype a lot and send each other little parcels. It's her 21st next month and I am putting together a wee package as we speak! =)

Aww, that's super sweet!! I have a big sister and we are SUPER close, but like you and your sister we fought all the time as kids. Funny how that changes.

I don't have a sister, just a few girlfriends who I'm very close to! I love that second dress!
