Slightly Stylish: Trying to break the summer slump

Happy Monday, darlings.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Ours was spent celebrating Jus's brother's graduation, drinking too many margaritas and laughing as we watched Hangover 2.

Now that the weather is getting warmer my wardrobe has been paired down to sundresses, my braided belt & Blowfish Garrens, luckily for me (and you) I try to expand my horizons when I know that I'll be posting my outfits.

But....sometimes I feel too lazy to dress up much and stick to what I know.

Jus just told me there was a snake in the yard.

shirt & shorts: american eagle shoes: blowfish
bow: sandy ala mode

I promise I'm delighted it's summertime but a cold night allows for a wider variety of outfits. I was really unsure of how my chambray shirt would look belted over a dress but it was a fun change & Jus loved it.

Don't mind the giant bar sign holding court in our living room.

dress: forever 21 shirt & tights: target
shoes: blowfish belt: thrifted
earrings: jules boutique

This dress is one of the best thrifting finds I've ever had, but my hemming job left the dress a little short so without tights flats are a must.

dress: thrifted & revamped belt & bag: jules boutique
bow: sandy ala mode shoes: target
Trying to mix 90 degree weather with looking semi professional can be tough but luckily wedding planning lends itself to being creative. I love this tshirt because it's basically a white tee but the fluttery sleeves remind me of wings.

shirt & skirt: forever 21 scarf: old navy
shoes: target belt: thrifted

This dress is one I've had a love/hate relationship with since I bought it three years ago. Everyone loves it but I mostly feel unsure about the length & cut and have only worn it a handful of times. However, when I was preparing for Jus's brother's graduation ceremony I knew I had to try to style this dress & make it work. The light material was perfect for the hot summer day and I felt like a super alumna wearing our alma maters colors to graduation.

How do you change up your summer looks?

That sign from the Pub is awesome! I'm jealous, even though my wife would probably only let me put it up in the garage.

I, too, love that last dress. You should give it a shot more often! My summer wardrobe basically consists of dresses from Target. And sandals from Target. I know, I'm fancy.

That polka dot dress is just darling! And i love how you styled it with the belt and sandals. The heat here is like nothing I have ever experienced! I just want to wear a dress all day long because it is so hot and humid :-) xx
