Little List

Hello my dears. I've decided I simply must share a little list because it's been too long & my brain is about to burst (plus, I'm pretty sure we're all a little tired of kitchen talk).

1. Banan & I went on a sister date to see The Help. I absolutely loved the book & was a little worried that the movie would let me down, but the movie was such a beautiful representation of the story.

2. I've decided that I don't listen to enough Van Morrison. I'm trying to fix this.

3. This weekend is my 5th (and what I think will be my last) wedding of the summer. I'm not sure if I can tell you how much I love helping couples make their days special.

4. My birthday is 18 days away. It's not particularly a big one but it's the first one where I'll be closer to 30 than 20 and that scares the shit out of me.

5. I may have forgotten one or two of my kitchen inspiration pictures the other day.

6. Jus & I are planning a make up honeymoon trip this winter. We're going to head to the Florida Keys and I would gladly take any recommendations you have.

7. We've been meeting with contractors about finishing the kitchen. It's so flipping excited to be able to have a timeline and know that we are getting close to having a real kitchen. I'm already day dreaming of all the fresh food I can cook, it's been 8 months since I've cooked anything cooked anything outside of a microwave, and it's been 4 months since I've microwaved anything.

8. Jus & I have decided that we won't be getting another Basset Hound puppy. It's a little sad but definitely the best option.

9. I really hope you have been enjoying my posts about the kitchen, I love sharing more of what's really going on in our little life.

You are going to love the Keys! I went there quite awhile ago on a family vacay and had a great time!

And I'm glad to hear The Help as a movie was good. I haven't read the book yet but I'm waiting for it from the library so I'm excited to see the movie too!

I love Key West! Make sure you rent bikes or stay at a place that has them available! Best way to get around by far. And best coffee house to hang out at in the morning is called Coffee Plantation-- it's on Caroline Street. Laid back place with a nice verandah out front to sit and relax with your coffee.

Oof I love my home state and the Keys are one of the best places to experience it. Fly into Miami, rent a car and drive yourself down to key west. It takes a few hours but it's one of the most gorgeous drives out there. Make a pit stop in islamorada and have a run runner at the tiki bar, it's touristy, but you won't regret it. I would suggest staying downtown in keywest, then you can walk to all the bars and restaurants and rent bikes or scooters to get to the beach. Take a picture at the southern most point, buy your self some kinos at the key west sandal factory, and eat LOTS of key lime pie everywhere! I'm so jealous!! Email me if you want more specific restaurant/activity recommendations.

Have a blast on your honeymoon trip...never been to the Keys myself! And sad that you won't be adding another basset hound, but great that you recognize it isn't the best option for you :)

I LOVE the red kitchen, if you weren't so dead set on white I'd say totally do that one :) But super excited you guys are finally moving forward to getting it done! Can't wait to see it :) When you go to Key West definitely stop by Sloppy Joe's Bar, they have good bands and a fun atmosphere!

Oops I mean pink, it looks a little reddish on my computer but then I realized you've shown me this before I think...either way total awesomeness.

Have great fun in the Keys! You MUST snorkle Looe Key and drive through Big Pine Key to see the only island with the tiny Key Deer! The deer are everywhere and even come up to you in the evenings while you are sitting around sipping your island drinks! While at Big Pine, stop at No Name Pub for a cold one and great food! Oops...one more! Bahia Honda State Park! Gorgeous! Don't forget your camera!

We stopped in Key West for our honeymoon last week and LOVED it. I highly recommend stopping by the Hemingway house. Regardless of what you think of his writing, it's a gorgeous house and it's so cool to see the decendants of his six-toed cats. Have fun!
