Sunny Days

Can you believe that Sesame Street's been on the air for 40 years? I have such good memories of watching Sesame Street as a child.
I always loved the female characters, like Prairie Dawn and Melody, and still reference the learning of my childhood via Sesame Street pretty frequently.
In celebration of Sesame Street's anniversary I thought I'd share my favorite video...

What's your favorite?

Bits & Pieces

I am super excited about the new Lonny Magazine

When domino closed its doors in January I sat and stared at the computer begging the sad news to be untrue.

So now we have Lonny, and while I wish it was a printed mag* I love that it offers 195 pages and that I am only on 38!

Edie is totally craving one of these, maybe we can get one for Layl too...

Ooo I'm feeling a Christmas present for the whole family, I wonder when they'll make the snugcat for Jack.

I also fixed the video of the baby dancing, so check it out.

My Love for today: My parents for taking the puppies this weekend, I'm starting to feel like a sleep deprived mother and am looking forward to the chance to sleep in.
My Happiness for today: We're headed to Chicago this weekend to see Robin Williams, hopefully pick up a mirror and see my BFFAE. I hope you have a great weekend too!

*I just love love love flipping through a magazine and keeping them forever afterwards.

Baby Got Back

If you haven't seen this then you are missing out...

That's a baby with some moves.

My Love for today: Lately the weather has really started to feel like fall and that's just about the best, it makes me hungry for turkey, apples & pumpkin pie.
My Happiness for today: My little cousin is coming over to make some caramel apples tonight.

Johnny Castle

There are not many men in the world that can cause girls, teenagers, and women swoon and today we lost one of the greats. Patrick Swayzee created characters that were memorable and lovable, I can't tell you how many times I've watched Road House with my dad. And haven't we all wished we could be Baby and dance with someone who moved like that?
And since I can't embed my favorite Dirty Dancing scene I'll just stick to another great one

Bits & Pieces

Well, since Project Runway is on tonight I figured I should show you the outfit I was loving so much last week.
Isn't Shirin talented? And this picture doesn't even show the beautiful stitching at the waist. I can't wait for tonight's episode, I think the designers are very talented this year.

I saw this before and after project by a woman named Karen on Design*Sponge today, isn't the paper great?

This table is available at darling octopus decor on etsy. I think I might have to start following Karen's blog, its looks like it could make me happy.

This picture made Jus & I laugh, don't you just feel sorry for that kid?

Tonight my mom brought by some blueberries and this beaut.

She found it at a garage sale and the lady that sold it said this is the best type of cooker, so it looks like I'll have to find a good recipe.

I've been wanting to try this out, not for the engagement part,* just the part that looks yummy.

My Love for tonight: My little sis came home for Labor Day weekend, even though she's only been at school for a couple of weeks I have really missed her
My Happiness for tonight: I love that I am starting to collect aqua cookware.

*Jus don't freak out, I'm not going to do some voodoo magic to get a ring on it.

The Rainy Week Blahs

Sorry I've been a little MIA this week, its been super rainy and all I've wanted to do is curl up in bed with some tea and a book...
Strangely, a lot of my life tonight & this week has centered on children & babies, which is strange considering I'm not ready to go to that life stage for another five years or so, here are some examples how...
Keegan's still at the vet, hopefully she gets to come home tomorrow, but they've been having trouble transferring her from IV antibiotics to oral. It's been so lonely around here, Layla seems to be lonely spending every day by herself. I can't imagine how much more stressful having a sick child would be. I think this has added at least 1 year to my potential baby making age.
Tonight Jus & I took my favorite almost 4 year old (B) and almost 1 year old (P) out for pizza, we ended up keeping them out too late (7) and P broke down and wouldn't go to sleep. Luckily her parents showed up fairly soon after the breakdown. + 1 year to potential baby making age, plus gets me wondering if I'm lacking some maternal gene.
The baby making continued on Project Runway tonight. I definitely agreed with the judges when they picked Shirin's design, I can't find a picture but I promise to keep looking. If you missed Project Runway, shame on you.
Okie doke, that's probably enough baby talk, I promise to break out of these rainy day blahs, after all my birthday is Sunday* and my parents & Jus are planning a party for Saturday, so I will be party happy by then.
Here's some candy to make up for the blahs, and a promise to have some fun projects for next week(I have been DYING to make some Red Velvet cupcakes)...
I love the round-up Design*Sponge featured this week...

Also, don't you think the girls would just love one of these Found My Animal leashes?

And last but not least some love via my favorite wedding photog, Simply Bloom

My Love for tonight: My three dinner dates.
My Happiness for tonight: Jack the cat is hanging out upstairs, Project Runway's 2nd episode, & it's my birthday week.

*Interestingly enough, I will be 24 Sunday, which is the age that my mommycakes was when she became pregnant with me & the age Jus's momma was when she had my lovely lover.

The Missing Piece

Jus & I just got back from taking Wheezer to the vet she has stones in her bladder making it so she can't pee, which means her bladder is now the size of a softball. She is going to have surgery in the morning but I think she'll be ok. So thats the news from here, and just to pacify my loneliness here's one of my favorite pictures of Keegan.

My Love for tonight:Our wonderful little family
My Happiness for tonight:Project Runway premieres tonight!
