One Year Ago

I worked late

Came home to find Jus in the guitar room

Was asked to dance but turned it down

Was asked again

Was spun around

Asked to be a wife*

And handed this beauty**

Today we are celebrating 7 weeks of marriage by ripping apart our two kitchens

My Last Weekend as a Single Lady

One Week
Seven Days
168 Hours
10,080 Minutes
604,800 Seconds

Until Jus & I are husband & wife!

Ten months ago it felt like this week was forever away. When this journey began I had lots of ideas, lots of dreams and lots of time, now we're almost ready, almost married and I am so excited!
Jus is in Cleveland for his Bachelor party, today they went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and then they rented a plane.
Isn't he cute???

Tonight they're headed to the House of Blues to hear some music, and me? Well, I spent the day getting my hair cut & dyed (to cover all the yucky grays) and doing last minute shopping.

See? It's not too different!

Now I'm sitting at home, eating pizza, drinking hard cider, and working on our programs.
Besides the programs all we have to do is decorate the ceremony space, set the tables, get our marriage license and get married!
I've spent the day smiling thinking about the fact that in one week I'll be married to my favorite person. I'll be sure to stop by later in this week but thought I'd fill you in with what's going on now.
So what's going on in your life?

Toooooooooooooooosday

How was your weekend?
We had a good weekend at my parent's place at the lake, our new friends (& some older friends) came with us and we spent the weekend playing in the lake, barbecuing, watching a golf cart parade and celebrating summer.
Jus & I are still trying to recover and were excited to sleep in our own bed last night, I was especially excited to hop in bed and start reading The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest. I finished The Girl Who Played With Fire while floating in the lake and love this series, if you haven't checked these books out I definitely recommend it. I'll be sad when I finish the last because I don't know what to read next!
So, help me out! What are you reading this summer?

PS How do you like my new header? I've been trying to work out a matching button but it's slow moving at the moment.

PPS Want to see more of our engagement pictures? I la-la-LOVE them!

Wild Horses

Fridays are long days for me. I usually work at least thirteen hours so when I come home I just like to shower and zone out in front of the tv. All day I was a little worried about Jus cause he said he had a stomach ache and I couldn't really get a hold of him.
Last night Jus was in his guitar room when I got home. I went in and plopped myself down on the sofa complaining about how long my day was.
The Rolling Stones Wild Horses* came on and Jus got up and asked me if I wanted to dance.** I said that I didn't really feel like it and so he asked me again I finally relented and got up to dance. I could feel Jus's hands shaking and was worried he was really sick.
While we were dancing he turned me around so my back was facing him and I felt him pull something out of his pocket. We kept dancing and he wrapped his arm around me again and opened his hand. He was holding the most beautiful ring and asked if I'd marry him.
Last night we celebrated with our parents and today we're off to show the rest of the family, but I wanted to share it with you all too.
So without further ado...

We've already promised we aren't planning anything until after Christmas, we're just going to be engaged for a while.

*Wild Horses is one of those songs that we've both said should be "our" song, even though our song has always been Dylan's Lay Lady Lay. Now I think Wild Horses will forever be our song.

**When good songs come on I usually make Jus get up and dance, this has resulted in dance parties in the kitchen, living room and guitar room many times.
